Hacker attacks on websites of Latvian political unions were successfully prevented by the Aanval IDC system

More then ten various political unions and web portals devoted to political issues have chosen GARM Technologies as their hosting and Internet provider company. There were a large number of hacker attacks on political websites during the period from September 25 to October 8. Thanks to timely actions by the company employees and modern software Aanval™ Intrusion Detection Console, all the attacks were prevented. Hackers did not manage to compromise websites of political unions.

Usually hosting company servers are attacked approximately once in a few months. However, during the pre-elections period cyber-criminals became a lot more active. Unfortunately, cyber attacks became a popular method of unfair competition in Latvia. In a number of cases, the servers of our company were assaulted by a DDoS-attack which aimed at blocking access to the website by means of artificially increasing the number of server access requests.
